Elk Video - Edited Version - This might get the elk blood moving !!!

This is a short version of the elk video we made of last years hunt..

1st day, 1st time filming a hunt with a camera...and as you will see I tried cuttin' a little bit and it wasn't 100%

Dangit! Now you're REALLY making me regret not going to Colorado this year...

This is definitely the last time I do an "in lieu of" trip; every one from here on out will be an "in addition to" elk hunting.

 

Cool deal. That looked like a heart pounding hunt, and to get it on video is just awesome.

Going to Colorado, I've been hunting that spot for 20 years.

 

Rob, thoroughly enjoyed that video at the gtg, and thoroughly enjoyed it again. Oh, and the elk burgers too!

Made me remember my own.

Great video Rob! Nothing, I mean nothing, in the whole world can compete with an arrow through an elk! Where were you hunting? As your bull approached, I was thinking, "wow, a Montana Decoy would have been just the ticket." You played that just perfect. The bull was looking-looking hard. Had you made another peep as he was walking towards your position, I doubt he would have given you the shot. Perfect execution! Awesome!

So, I was thinking (I know, rare...). From the past, I remember Jeff's story about Paul Schaffer. He was able to go on a sheep hunt due to the kindness of his friends-they provided the doe, ray, me. What if we did the same thing here? What if we all gave someone here a chance to go kill an elk? I will host. We just need to raise the funds for the license. Who would be willing to toss in $10? 50 x $10=$500 (the cost of a non-resident tag in Colorado). The hunt would take place in 2010 in an OTC unit (a bunch of us will already be there). Anyone who contributes $$$ is eligible. A name(s) could be drawn from a hat at next year's GTG. Whatcha think?

Great video, sure gives you that over the shoulder feel. I thoroughly enjoyed those 4 minutes.

 

Believe it or not, I enjoyed running the camera and callin' the bulls up. I had another bull on tape as well as some other good elk footage.

Looking forward to the season..tonight I got some real good deer footage and hope that it can turn into something good:D
