I would like to hear what everyone has to say about the Elite Z28. I have found a local guy that has a "new" (i am guessing an overstock) 2010 Z28.

    Is this a good bow?

Go over to Elite archery forums and research the z28.... Probably the most loved Elite bow ever made.

My best friend bought one last year. It's a shooter for sure. This bow is almost a carbon copy of the Bowtech Allegiance (same guy designed it too). The Allegiance is still regarded as one of the best bows Bowtech made as well.

Would $500 be too much to pay for a RTS package?

A little high yes. You can get most 2011 pulses and hunters for about 500...

What is on the bow? With the right sight, quiver, wrist sling, stabilizer etc. 500 may be well within the right ballpark.

It is a great bow. I had a 2009 until my buddy traded a GT500 for it. I liked it, but I shoot longer ATA bows much more consistently so we traded. We both still shoot and hunt with these bows. Believe it or not, both of them still have the original strings on them. I keep taking mine into the archery shop I use and the owner keeps telling me that it has not stretched so there is no need to replace it...much unlike some of my other former bows. I would offer a little bit less than the $500 list price. Maybe $400-450. Good luck.

its a great bow, but there are leftover 2010 Z's that were made by G5 that had flaws and were never sold by Elite and will not be covered by Elites warranty. get the serial number and call Elite to check if its a bow that they cover before buying it !

The G5/ z28 situation has nothing to do with flaws. Elite contacted G5 at that time for the production of bows, so up until this past year all Elite bows were made by other manufacturing companies. The warranty issue has nothing to with flaws in the bows rather it it has all to do with who the original manufacture was.

wrong, the berger holes were drilled too low, and the g5 leftover 2010's are not covered by Elites warranty
