I shot an Elite pulse, Hoyt CRX32, Rampage, and Carbon Element today. The Carbon Element was very nice,,,,AND EXPENSIVE!!!! However I am absolutely in love with the Elite PULSE at 70#. Absolutely, love it. Unless the Mathews Z7 is magical, I believe this weekend I will be hunting with a new Elite Pulse, with a Tru glo Power Dot, QAD drop away rest. I shoot the mathews tomorrow.

Do any of you shoot and ELITE? How do you like it?

I don't shoot a elite bow but have heard nothing but great things about them. They have the best warranty in the business as well.

They have a lifetime warranty. Life time of the bow regardless of who owns it.

If money was no object would you get the Element? I have been told the Elite's are a dang good bow.

I dont know about the element. I shot a matrix a couple of months ago and thought it was the best bow I had ever shot. Now that I have shot the Elite Pulse, there are more things I like about it than the matrix or the element. I actually think now that the Elite is a better bow. It has a SOLID wall you hit when you pull the string back. I shot a bare bow with no sites and at 20 yards my grouping was crazy. It would be a great instinctive bow. Also the bow was bare, no silencers, no stabilizer, nothing, and it was super quiet. The guy put a fuse stabilizer on it and it got even more quiet. I could not believe how quiet it was. The carbon element made a different sound that I was not used to though. I made a soft swoosh sound instead of a more crisp thud sound that aluminum riser bows make. I think I am going to get an elite bow for sure, but it may not be this weekend. I wish money grew on trees. It will be soon, but not this week.

I've got a Pure due in here any day for a friend. I can't wait to set it up and shoot it in for him. I was torn between the Pure and Pulse when I shot them side by side. The Pulse is definitely a lot better handling than I thought it would be for a speed bow but I think the Pure was just a tad more forgiving and a better overall hunting bow, it's a touch lighter too. I really don't think the Z7 is going to impress you over the Pulse, especially if you like that solid back wall and the smooth draw. I'm hoping to be able to shoot a Hunter this weekend but the shop in Anchorage can't keep them in stock.

The two Z28's I own now are by far the best shooting bows I've ever owned but I may have to start thinking about turning them over for a new Pure or Hunter.

Elite is a good and solid company. There warranty is impressive. I had a 08.5 Z28 and liked it alot. I'm looking seriously at getting either the Pulse or Hunter in the near future.

Rob maybe you should look into the k&k vengeance. Only problem is that there aren't many dealers for them. And none close to you, but having the specs that they have and knowing Kevin strother is designing, setting up and tuning all bows they should be amazing.

Yeah, I wonder how long that's going to last this time?

I was expecting the Elite Hunter to be the smoothest and most tame bow that I have ever shot and there was nothing surprising in it, it was. It pushes away clean and smooth at the shot with very little noise and no jump or torque. It's one of those bows you could enjoy shooting all day long. My neck was even thrown out a bit and I had no problem drawing and shooting this bow. It was buttery smooth (way smoother than any single cam I've shot to date even!), moderately fast (320 fps IBO), well balanced (held well on target), compact, accurate and, in my mind, everything a hunting bow should be.

I'm hoping that with this being kevins own company that it will last. Him and his wife are in charge of everything so things should go smoothly.

Hey Kodiak, what's your thoughts on the Pulse vs. Hunter since you've shot them both?

Just what you'd expect. The Pulse has a little more jump to it at the shot and it holds more steady on the target but it was a bit loud for me. They're both as smooth or more smooth than any bow on the market. I'm not a speed freak but I do hunt in the mountains a lot so my choice between the two is the Hunter for it's more compact size and lighter weight. It's also quieter and smoother than the Pulse. That's a good trade to me. If I were strictly treestand hunting I would lean toward the Pure especially if I was also using it for target competition. I'd only go to the Pulse for a strictly 3D bow and even then I'd probably get the Pure but like I said, I'm not a speed freak. What I'd like to try is to put the cams from the Pulse/Pure on the Hunter and see what speeds come out of it. I think it'd be a lot like my Z28's with about 10-15 more fps.

Cool deal, thanks. Mods in my DL won't be in for another week then I'll get to try both bows for myself.
