Yesterday I was wearing permetherin treated street clothes while hanging a trail camera in a new spot. I ended up counting 102 wood ticks by the time I was finished pulling them all off of me... Today I brought a friend along as a control subject who was wearing untreated street clothes, while I was wearing Elimiticks. I managed to pull THREE ticks off of my untreated boots, while he ended up at about 80.... Our full review is below.

I never found a single tick all turkey season. Normally I don't get too many till about now when I'm really out there hanging cams and checking cams with the warmer weather. The other day I was in permetherin treated clothes and still pulled 102 ticks off of me... I was rather floored because I've always trusted the stuff in the past. I'm hoping I just picked up a bad bottle.

I used Sawyer brand permethrin spray numerous times. Notably, when I went bear hunting in 2015 and 2016. My hunting partners each of those years also used Sawyer and neither of us had a tick on us all week. Everyone in camp had ticks on them on a regular basis each day. I've also had really good luck with it while running trail cameras in the summer months. Good review on the Elimitick products. Thanks.

So did I over the years with good success. I am hoping I just had a bad batch or something, because that's an abnormally high number of ticks for being in treated clothing, considering a friend of mine the next day had way less with untreated clothing than I did in treated clothing.

I went out again a few days later to check trail cams, and ended up with zero ticks with my Elimitick clothing. I also didn't have any mosquito issues and seen a bunch of them on my walk.

How old was the Sawyers (promethrin) ? I went up to central WI on June 3 w/ a couple buddies to plant the plots. Buddy A didn't treat any clothing (we warned him) and he had dozens (60+) of ticks inside and outside of his clothes by end of day. Buddy B used 3 year old Sawyers (been in his camper hot/cold since new in spring of 14) and had maybe 10-20 on him by days end. I used the Sawyers but also 40% Deet bug spray to keep the mosquitos off as well...I had 3 ticks on me all day and at least 2 of those came off my dog after lifting him into my truck bed.

Last season me and Buddy B used the Sawyers and didn't have any on us at appx. same time of year up there. I'm guessing it is losing potency.

Ive always had good luck with this stuff. It doesn't have the permethrin in it, but I put it on anytime I go in the woods and I rarely get ticks on me. Can be applied to clothing and skin unlike permethrin.

I have watched a deer tick die on permethrin treated pant legs, also watched a dog tick walk right up unaffected by the permethrin.

The bottle itself was only a few weeks old, but that doesn't really tell me how long it was in the store for, or in some warehouse.
I used to love the stuff, but after this season, then seeing zero ticks now that I've made the switch to Elimitick, I'm staying put. lol. I stuck with Sawyer for many years because it worked and I trusted it. I lost that trust this year though.

Until this year I never found a tick (deer or dog) on me at the end of the day while wearing permethrin. I don't know if I just so happened to have picked up a bad bottle or what, but it's gone now.
