What were you doing? I was at the unit working when co-workers started yelling that we were under attack. We all went to the dining facility where we saw the replay of the planes hitting the twin towers. Had a eerie feeling after all was said and done and all aircraft across the USA were grounded.
I was in 7th grade going to art class. Got outta school early then I remember watching CNN with the ole man. Thing that I remember most was the weather for some reason almost like today bluebirds 60 ...not sure why. Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk 2
I was in 3rd grade about to do a school activity then the teacher left, came back, and said we were all going home.
I was living in Chicago by Ohare. It was an eerie feeling not seeing any planes for days after. I will never forget! Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
I was in a meeting at work. When I got out of the meeting we got the information about the attack from a coworker that was running late that day and missed the meeting.
Going to take a cultural geography test my freshman year in college. We tried to talk the professor into canceling the test after a couple of people came in talking about it. He didnt....i went back to my dorm room after to watch the news, then home later trying to find out if my cousin who is a pilot was involved.
I had gotten up to go to my first class of the day, turned on the TV a few minutes before the second plane hit. I was late for class, most hadn't known what had happened. After relaying what I knew I left class to go back home. Sat in front of the TV trying to soak it all in until about noon or 1. I couldn't take it anymore, so I jumped in the car and drove to our Cabin in WI. I spent the next 5 hours walking in the woods throwing questions at God without listening for answeres. Drove home late that night. The calm of the woods helped me that day. That night I drew this....
I was working for a courier service. I had just stopped at the post office to pick up mail for my route. The post office was all abuzz. They said planes had hit the WTC and they were shutting down. I'll never forget.
I was sitting in first period spanish class. The tv turned on about 5 mins before the second plane hit. We did nothing in any classes that day except watch the news coverage. Sent from my SGH-T959 using Xparent Green Tapatalk 2
Just starting a new project in Southampton, here on Long Island. Too close for comfort. We lost a lot of heroes that day, dont ever forget! Still a open wound for most of us here in NY
I was preparing to go work a job on a C130. I instead had to lock down the building and wait for further instructions. We gathered in my office and watched it all on television. I called my wife and she went to get Zach out of daycare and took him to her office. Then many members of my unit met and prayed together for our nation, our president, and of course the families of those lost and those who we knew would be lost in coming years. For those who have served... We owe you a great debt! Thank you.
I was a Senior in HS and I was in my Physics class when a student ran in and told us about the attacks....Our teacher told him to get out and proceeded in going on with the class...It was not until my next class that we found out what had happened....What a terrible tragedy it was....
I was in the bedroom getting ready for work when the first plane hit. I sat on the bed to watch the news and told my wife there was something more to this than just a plane crash. I could not move and was still watching as the second plane hit the towers. Sadly, my instincts were confirmed. We were under attack and our country was forever changed. My heart goes out to the families.
I was at a meeting in Brooklyn a few miles away. I was in the process of writing a contract for the sale of what was at the time my company. We stopped the meeting and gathered around a TV at that time only the first plane hit. We were all stunned. Most of us knew friends and family that worked in or near the world trade center. But it still didn't sink in what happened until the second plane hit. We were only a few miles away, a roof top would have given us a view. After a couple minutes most of us started coming to our senses, phones started getting taken out of our pockets. We started trying to call family and friends. I called my operations manager and told him to shut down all our projects , send everyone home ASAP. I left and drove to one of our offices in queens from there I had to use a land line to start locating family. Cell service shut down because of so much use. After trying up some loose ends and getting in touch with the few people that were to me most important I left the city to go to my house and family upstate. Myself, friends and family lot several people that we loved.
I was working with a customer on designing a new business card and another customer walked in the door telling us what happened. We turned the TV on right before the 2nd plane hit and we all sat there in complete shock.
I was in 4th grade science class. I was called to the office where my mom picked me up. Then went to my house and kept watching it with my family. I had no idea what the Pentagon even was at that age. Our school plays Shanksville in sports, so it was pretty surreal.
Like Fitz, I had just woken up for my first class of the day in college and turned on the tv to see every news station replaying the footage. I went to school in Western MD, which was about 30 miles from the plane going down in Pennsylvania. Needless to say classes were cancelled and the highway was shut down. I was at work that day. We didn't have internet or a tv at the office, so I had to hear about it all on the radio. I watched tv that night and was in shock at what had unfolded. Truely a day I'll never forget.
