Sorry guys if this was discussed last year but I'm new to the forum and didn't find anything during a brief effort to look back in time through the threads. I know (only from seeing it on some hunting shows) that EHD was prevalent in Iowa for a couple of years running there but what was the result in Summer and Fall of 2016? It seems like I've only seen a few hunting shows this year that were covering 2016 hunts in Iowa and while there was some mention of fewer bucks, lingering impact, etc of those EHD die-offs I have not heard any news on whether or not there was another significant EHD loss in 2016 or not. I'm just curious because I bought my 3rd preference point this Spring so I'd be able to go out there next year if I wanted to but I don't want to add to the problems of a recovering herd by them having someone as dangerous as me to worry about. Any feedback from those in the know would be appreciated.
From the people I am connected with in Iowa and west central IL, it sounds like there were a few likely cases but nothing widespread. Numbers are still down though from the worst years from everyone I hear.
