Due to some serious water issues I've encountered, I'm installing a UV filtration system (whole house). I've got it narrowed down to two local companies, each selling two different brands, $100 apart. One argues that the pre filter on their model is superior to others in that it is more efficient. The other is claiming that that the pre filter is completely unnecessary. The two brands are Pura and ATS. The Pura has the pre-filter, and the company wants $785 installed. The other system is ATS and is $695 installed. All I care about is killing the bacteria in our water, and ease of maintenance (changing filters, cleaning the quartz, and of course, changing the UV bulb). Does anyone have any knowledge (first hand) of these systems, have one in their home, etc,. and can offer anything to look for in terms of problems, maintenance, efficiency, warranty, etc.? Thanks!
I have the UV Bulb system hooked up in my house. I actually dont know much about it..? I bought the house and had to replace the bulb, I think it was through a company called Sunlight Systems? I cant believe you are quoted that price though, seems very high! I should really have it tested to make sure it is working properly? I am on a Spring Water System. Ohhh and to be honest the Sunlight Systems(? I will find out for sure) I dont really recommend, I had a fun time trying to change the bulb and they were not that helpful over the phone. I actually broke the quartz but in turn it was there fault, they sold me the wrong end cap with the bulb and plug. Then again I am not being very helpful here either, I am just ranting and wish you best of luck finding an educated answer!
Called around to everyone and the $695 was the best. The unit is a little over $500 online, so I'll eat the $300 to have it installed and warrantied. Thanks for the input! Unit goes in Monday morning. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4
