So I won an auction a few days ago for a roller cable slide. I lagged a bit getting the payment to the seller, but I made the payment a few minutes ago and offered to reimburse him for the cost of shipping to make up for the slow payment. Not 5 minutes later, I get a message from him saying that he had no idea I was the winner. Apparently, someone else had messaged him with their shipping info and everything, as if THEY had won. He's been trying to get in touch with them for payment, and even relisted it since he didn't think they would pay! It's all cleared up now, he's been paid and the item is on it's way to ME, but I just thought it was bizarre for a non winning bidder to send a seller shipping info. It should have showed him YOUR username when the auction was over. Weird stuff happens on Ebay, I once won an item, payed for qty 1, and was shipped 3 of them a couple weeks apart. Contacted the guy and he said don't worry about it lol
been a bunch of scamming on ebay lately....bushnell trophy cam HD for 15$?! was new sellers(was a couple times) and gone/banned 3-4 days later....same with python locks for 5$!!??!! Guy won a Kindle fire and was shipped a bunch of nails wrapped in foil. I won an auction the other day on a Tripod for really cheap...got a message 2 days later that they tried to contact me(not), but couldn't, so they refunded my payment because out of stock...they have been putting up an auction for the same tripod every nite around 10pm ever since....Hmmmm? Won a camera auction the other week listed as 'New' but when I got it it had taken 189 photos already and the supposedly new lens that came with had the threads for mounting all marred up form being used.....I wasn't going to pay/waste 20$ shipping with insurance to send it back and have nothing for my troubles though. Had some idiot send a camera fed ex with 'adult signature' required...basically made me set aside time to maybe meet the delivery SOMETIME in the afternoon(wtf)...after I missed him the second day I called local delivery hub had the driver call me and met him at a gas station the next town east of here - I wasn't going to waste another afternoon waiting on a delivery(btw the first day he tried to deliver - I WAS home waiting for him...he never knocked on the door nor called beforehand as instructed). THe latest goof up with ebay - last night bidding on a tripod(to replace the one I didn't get) and was going to make last minute bid(sneaky trick I know) and watching the countdown...go to make the bid with 40secs left and as I click the submit button the listing ended...somehow ebays countdown time was off by 20-30 seconds. Yup - I'm getting fed up with Ebay(these are only the latest of the issues I've run into or heard of)
I've seen some weird stuff lately from buyers and paypay not being able to use paypal but that's it. I lost one order and had to jump through some hoops for the other.
Right after I posted this some dude keeps ordering the same thing over and over again. I send him a message asking how many he wants and no reply. 10 minutes later he order 12 more, I would love to have all that money but I think his account got hacked. This has been the strangest week with orders in a long time.
I thought it might be you......I got a hold of the guy it was his first day on e-bay I had to cancel 12 orders in total but he did take 6.
