    We fried up Caribou heart in camp in Quebec. It was excellent, I will try the heart of the next deer I kill. Thanks for the reminder.

    Here's some bear heart that my daughter and I had a couple days after I got my bear. It was awesome. It was my daughters 1st time ever eating heart. She loved It!! You all have no Idea what your missing here. ;)

    Another way of making deer heart is to cube it into pieces about 1/2" to 3/4" and use that to make a stew with carrots, potatos, onions, celery and a nice gravy. Almost like a beef stew but with deer heart. My mother used to make it for my dad that way and it was delicious.

    I used to do the heart in very thin strips, coated and fried. It's awesome that way.

    I have to admit that it's been a while. I now save the heart and give it to my dog. It's sort of my way of letting her celebrate a kill with me. She gets the livers too. And the bones, head.. legs. But the heart is the 'celebratory' part. ;)

    In honor of this post, I'll fry up the next heart.

    MMM love it...especially with eggs for breakfast. I lost mine on the drag out! Made me mad.
