I've been shooting Easton ST-Epic 400 arrows the past few years and my bow is shooting them very well. I lost a couple arrows on my last shooting session (I shouldn't have tried that 60 yard target) so I decided to buy a few more arrows.

Imagine my surprise when I find they've been discontinued! I was told they've been replaced by a model called the "Bloodline", and they shoot the same. I find that a little hard to believe, since the Epic is 8.6 g per inch and the Bloodline is 7.7 g per inch.

I can't really afford to buy a whole dozen arrows and re-tune my bow right now, especially with the season starting on Sept 26. But I'm not sure I want to go into the season with only 6 arrows, including my practice arrows.

Do any of you know of an arrow that is close enough to the EPIC? Or do you think the Bloodline is the best bet.

For what it's worth, I'm shooting a PSE Stinger at 60 lbs with 29.25" arrows and 100 gr G5 Striker fixed blade heads.

how many arrows do you really need to hunt? You only need 1 arrow to kill a deer and alot of the time you can clean up the arrow and go shoot another deer. Why spend the money right now when you have 6 arrows. My quiver only holds 3 and thats all i'll need in the woods. If i get low, I have practice arrows that would work fine just like in your case.

I can't say for sure which arrow would be the best replacement. The Bloodline may be less gr per inch but if the insert is heavier enough where the change in FOC makes the difference.

Other option from Easton would be the Bowfire which is 8.6gpi.

I thought about the Bowfire, but its diameter (S series) is larger than the Epic (H Series). That might screw up the tuning of the rest compared to the nocking position.

The local shop sells shafts individually; I may buy one or two different shafts and see which one comes closest. Or like Kurveball said, I probably only need three or four arrows at a time anyway. Tennessee allows you two bucks a year (no more than one in a day) and three does daily, so I've had a few days where I shot two deer and kept hunting, so three arrows is a minimum to carry.
