I've used the st axis and didn't mind them. Still was wondering how good the CE maxima reds are. Thought I'd try them out but at the same time im not sure

I like my reds, but honestly for the price; I don't love them. My Victory V3s are at least as consistent and about 2/3 of the price.

However, I may change my tune (pardon the pun) once I switch to fixed broadheads (soon.) We'll soon find out.

I prefer either the Easton Axis or the Easton FMJ's micro diameter for less wind drift, but hit like a Mack Truck on game. IMHO, they are one of the best hunting shafts available.

I shoot both, axis and reds.

It somewhat depends on the weight. I removed the factory crest from the axis and and cut them 1/4" shorter than the reds and they are now the same weight.

Side by side, no difference. I haven't shot them side by side over 45 yards yet though. But at 45 they are right with each other (same weight).

It's not a good test, but I had my girlfriend turn around and shot each of them randomly. Every time she said the easton were quieter coming out of the bow. I kind of suspected this myself.

I would go with the axis. They are about $5 cheaper each, and perform just as good if not better.

If you want, like I did, find a shop and buy 3 of them. Then shoot them side by side.

Yea I liked them but thinkin of maybe tryin out some mechanicals this year. Still not sold on that idea. I shoot g5 montecs right now. Gonna be pulling 65 at 26 draw on a creed xs. I always shot the axis I had on a diamond outlaw(not a fan of that bow really)

I am currently shooting Reds but am looking to something a little heavier. I used to shoot Beeman Blackmaxx micro diameter heavy arrows for a long time and miss the penetration of "heavier" and "slimmer" arrows.

I think with the way technology has come, I hope the speed game is over. Time for penetration and higher K.E.

    ...just my two cents...

AMEN. Couldn't have said it any better man. I'm shooting axis shafting and I'm finally getting consistent pass throughs with my new bow (70 Lbs) The axis shafts are great and I won't be switching anytime soon, but I have no experience with the reds- I'm sure they're still a great arrow as well

I was always a montec guy for a long time too, there a great head. I never had pass throughs though. I switched to the NAP killzone using axis shafts and the penetration has been incredible and consistent, G5 makes a mechanical that supposed to be an awesome head too. hope this helps man. -jimmy
