My proshop is hot to trot on the fmj's. I shoot cxpress maxima 3d 350s with my z7 at 30" draw and 65lbs. Are the fmjs that much better? Will i notice a difference or is this just hype?

My taxidermist says they are the best. He uses them for hunting everything from grizzlies to deer. Says you'll get better penetration from them. They are a bit pricey but I will be shooting them next year.

The FMJs will likely be heavier (don't know specs of maximas) which in most cases creates better penetration. That said, I don't know if they are any "better" of an arrow. I love mine because of how tough they are, amazing arrows that you don't have to worry about splintering/shattering arrows like carbons and the risk of bending arrows like aluminums is greatly reduced. It is all I'll shoot because I want a heavier arrow that is tough as nails. If you are looking for more speed, then FMJ is a terrible choice.

This is my first year shooting them, I've shot the same arrow into two different stumps with my Monster 70 # at 30 yards and that arrow is just fine. They are very tough arrows. I'll probably always use them. my 340's are 11.3 gpi I believe.

So it really comes down to durability and penetration vs speed which is all a great mystery to me. Any ideas on which is better for my particular setup?
