My son missed the target and hit the fence. Got tue arrow out and noticed the field point broke. How would i go about getting the insert out of the axis arrows? They are the ones that have the insert pushed into the arrow a half inch or more. Thank you

Axis shafts utilize the HIT system and it depends on what was used to install the hidden insert. If it was the supplied Easton two-part epoxy, then you will likely not get it out. Did you install them yourself? Some suggest using a drill bit that just barely fits inside the shaft and removing the nock to drop the bit down the shaft. The get somewhere that a flying object will not make a mess and snap the shaft a few times like cracking a whip. The motion will force the drill bit down on the inside surface of the HIT insert and potentially break it loose. However I would closely inspect the front portion of the shaft before going through that much effort as it could be cracked from the impact.

By the way.....if your son plans to hunt this fall and is missing the target....he needs MORE PRACTICE!!! ;^)

Inspect the arrow really well. Being that is it carbon, I think heating it up to loosen the glue is not an option. Just chalk it up as an unusable arrow. I hate losing or damaging an arrow as much as the next guy. It sucks, but it happens. Like the guy at the Archery shop told me, that is why they sell them in a dozen.

Once a fiber arrow hits a hard object...... look up arrow in hand videos.

You will never shoot a hard hit arrow again.

    And don't get me wrong.

I like axis nanos and use them a lot myself but I wouldn't use one after a hard landing.

When in doubt, throw it out is my thinking...but you could permanently glue in a modified field point. Just cut of the thread portion of a field point and rough up the shank to create some mechanical lock for the glue to bond to.
