Thatll be good for em...then the whole crowd will be theirs. Sure, the crowd will be low this year, but heck they will have no choice but hang out with Todd and Justin...thats gotta look good for them lol.
So everyone here seems to be applauding the vendors who canceled...myself included Does anyone care that Bowhunting.com staff choose to attend the show then? Just curious...
Yes and no. Wish they could back out, but I understand their side also. They are not near as big as some of these companies. They have already spend thousands and need to try and get some of that back Im sure. They are also a bowhunting site, not gun, so Im sure that plays into their choice as well. I will not at all hold it against them for this. They cant afford to lose as much as others. But I do hope Todd hits a few grand in a scratch off and changes his mind lol.
Ive attended this show for along time but after hearing the S*** they pulled last week Myself and 6 other friends will not be attending the show for the first time in 8 years. Cant believe Reed Expo's pulled a stunt like this.
Disappointed to see Ruger Firearms still in the list, especially since their easy to use representative contact feature was such a big hit. Has anyone heard if they are considering canceling? Sending them an email now, I'm bored and may just go down the list of their exhibitors and send all I can an email
This show is HUGE theres barley and walking room and this place is huge. Check it out online. Its WAS the Biggest show on the east coast i think?
The farmshow complex where it's hosted is literally 15 acres under one roof. It's elbow to elbow in there every day.
Im sure itll still be big. Even if 50% doesnt show up its still a huge amount of people. But, I know that will hurt the show, because they are expecting what they been getting.
I hope Jim Shockey cancels too. He has had a long relationship with Cabelas so I'm sure their absence has his attention. Of course Jim is Canadian not American but still...
Reed is a huge company based in Europe, go figure! They will take notice, its all a numbers game to them. Will they change their minds? I highly doubt it, but they will notice.
Its a 9 day show and when I attended my research showed that 700,000 to 1,000,000 people went though the complex.
There is a ton of money at stake here, for both the promoters and the exhibitors. My prediction is that Reed Exhibitions will reverse their position and a lot of those vendors that cancelled will end up changing theirs as well and attend. This one show can make or break a company for the year, its that big and most companies can't afford NOT to attend.
Dan, I agree. I've heard it avg approx 100,000 a day, and it wouldn't suprise me. Crowded is an understatement...especially on the weekends. Like I said in the other post .... they would have been miles ahead to come out and SUPPORT the guns, instead of caving to try and be politically correct. They could have made a HUGE impact in this industry if they would have gone the other way. As it is, I hope they lose their a$$ because of this move. I was planning to go, I'm not now. I applaud all the folks that are pulling out. Personally, I'd like to see everyone pull out to make a real stand...but I know that won't happen. Would be great to see a ghost town farm complex.
