    Anybody know of any good Pro shops in East Central Illinois?

    In Effingham there is Draves (spelling ) not sure but them guys have an awesome shop there.. Walt

    In Monticello there's Blue Ridge Backwoods. I drive 60 miles to go there. If you go, ask for Deb. (LadyForge). She really knows her stuff. (and if she doesn't know, she won't B.S. you.)

    There was supposed to be one opening in Danville but I don't know if it ever did open. There's also a small bowshop in Farmer City.

    Pro shops are bad because they work on commission. I'd recommend just building a bow from scratch, or doing your own maintenance with second-hand bowyer equipment that you can find on ebay.

    I just built a new Mathews Monster clone with some junk I had laying around the house. Lowe's has 2x4's on sale for $1.99 and just a cheap chainsaw should do the job. Check out the copper piping to build your own arrows.
