So I have found a great spot in my woods. I have cut out some limbs for some shooting lanes. Well I'm going to go ahead and get my hang on set up so I can occasionally make sure foliage doesn't fill in my lanes.
However I got to thinking. What if I make a mannequin (please note: careful calling it a dummy in front of your friends).
My thought is that the deer would get used to a shape being in that spot. I wouldn't make it life like, just the shape. My fear is that it will add pressure.
    Thoughts?

I would say you time/efforts/$$$ are better spent other ways. In my view the wind plays way more of a role. Get some scent free gear or buy another stand for a different wind. Just my 2 cents...

Hope none of the local kids find it and start shooting at it for fun could be bad when you switch places with the dummy.:fro:

I would put more cover around you before I would place a dummy in the stand.. They make several types of clips that hold branches around your stand.. Just before bowseason, I will trim BIG branches and place them on limbs around me, thus covering my silouette....

i had a uncle try that one time and he never saw a deer in that stand all year. i would do what everyone else is sayin make sure you have cover behind you and play the wind right and you will be good. i would go in about 2 to 3 weeks befor season and trim again just to make sure
