What gear do you guys wear in the warm early season. I’m thinking of picking up some of the Scent-Lok Savanna line. I’ve always just had basically camo jeans and a light long sleeve shirt. Anyone use the savanna line? Really looking to get lighter pants this year Adam Matthews Z7 Magnum 29/70 Gold Tip Hunter XT 100g Slick Trick Standard
No need to get fancy in the early season IMO. Thin moisture wicking shirt and a pair of camo jeans is just fine as long as you practice good scent control. My entire early season gear is probably $50 total including boots.
I wear a pair of blue jeans and a thin t-shirt, then put a leafy mesh poncho on over that after I get settled in the tree. If it's cooler, I'll use a light camo jacket instead of the poncho. My #1 piece of gear is knee high snake boots, I routinely walk up on cottonmouths, copperheads and rattlesnakes.
Lightweight pants, t shirt, boots, bow, treestand. Oh yeah, bottle of water. As for snakes, I was walking a cut path yesterday and my old butt jumped about 3 feet to the left. Almost stepped on a big old snake. lol
I wear the Savannah line and it works great... can beat little warm so I wait until I'm in the stand and cooled off to put the jacket on. Scentlok is a good brand of clothing, but you still have to play the wind right and manage your scent. Goodluck! Sent from my SM-G892A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
