The cans work pretty well. As for the grunt calls, find something that's easy to use. I use the Primos Rubberneck because it sounds good and you don't have to be a "seasoned" caller to use it. You can always hop online and find some tips on how to use them. There are a lot of mixed opinions on using calls, some say they work, some say they hurt you. I've found them to be most helpfull durring the rut and pre-rut.

I have a couple of the can calls and they work pretty good they just are'nt very loud. The Hunter Specialties "Tru Talker" Is a very simple call and sounds great. Just be careful how you use a grunt during early season. Like 450rdawg said there are plenty of tips available on line for how to use them during different times of the season.
