Valid point, not sure about increasing the bag limit as I can't speak for your area but I see the logic in simply extending the one season and doing away with the two seperate seasons. Makes sense..

True, you would have had to have seen the whole picture prior to the new early season, and the thing is, they actually reduced the bag limits considerably (in half for many counties and some even less) when they introduced this early muzzleloader season. So they kind of contradicted themselves, which is why it hasn't been accepted well amongst hunters in Ohio. I am all for common sense conservation and deer management, I just don't think they thought this one through all the way. I am waiting to see the data on how many bucks are "killed" on Monday by a "bow".

And this is where my concern came from..... I know of a couple that got shot over the weekend here and I spoke with the warden on Sat and he said it is a big problem. Rifle kills and they try to claim it as a bow kill, of course it doesnt work out for them. They reduced the doe tags in two units I hunt from 5 to 2 this year, which I actually support, but I can see where when that happens with the addition of an early season on top of that..... it just doesn't seem to add up. You have to remember that season changes are often not decided by the people who should be making those decisions. It comes from idiot legislators who don't know jack about the deer numbers in real life and are far more interested other aspects of their agenda than a balanced deer herd.
