I was not getting them, do not want them and my e-mail box became inundated with them. I went in and cleared all and any check boxes in my account to stop them. Still receiving them. What can I do to stop that?
Are you talking about email alerts associated with this forum? If so, have you tried clicking on your avatar, selecting “Preferences” and deselecting the below options that I have deselected?
I went into your "Preferences" settings in the Admin menu. Your settings had you "watching" (receiving notifications AND emails) on basically any post in any thread you created or had posted in. I removed the "receive email" option so hopefully that will take care of your email being overrun with forum notifications. Do you want to automatically "watch" any thread you post in and receive notifications of posts here on the forum? I didn't remove that setting but I can. I can't imagine getting a notification every time someone posts on a thread that I've made a post in. I find it much easier to manually "watch" a thread I'm interested in by clicking the "Watch Thread" link at the top right of the thread. That way I know any notifications I get actually mean something to me.
