I'll go ahead and get those Remington's. I appreciate the advice. I have had the two in at -20 yards but their is definite possibilities of 40+ yards. I'll look into a different choke also. Turn my turkey gun into a fox gun. Thanks for your patience and help Matt.

You have a pretty good selection of calls on that caller. I've called in predators over several of those. If you do decide to get a few more in the future, I'd suggest buying more territorial/breeding calls. You can listen to them on the website to hear the ones that sound really good.

So start your sets like this..........

    Distress #1, 2-3 minutes, volume 3

    Silence, 2-3 minutes

    Distress call #1, 2-3 minutes, volume 5

    Silence, 2-3 minutes

    Territorial/Breeding call #1, 2-3 minutes, volume 5

    Silence, 2-3 minutes

If you think your in a really good spot, throw in a second territorial/breeding after a pause. You can also throw a different distress call in after the territorial/breeding part, just mix it up. Just make sure that after whatever your last call is, give it 2-3 minutes before breaking down the set and moving. Mix it up, have fun, and if you find something that works for you keep doing it. ;)

    Distress calls:

    coy. pup scream
    scream-N grey fox
    juv. red fox distress
    bobcat in heat
    lightning jack
    jackrabbit distress
    snow shoe 2
    bay bee cottontail
    adult cottontail
    distressed calf
    whitetail buck fawn 2
    roar-N red squirrel
    prarie dog distress
    lucky bird
    raspy woodpecker
    ranting red bird

    Territorial/breeding calls:

    Coyote locator
    Coy. male challenge scream
    Female Coyote bark howl 1
    Female coy long howl 2
    coy. pup howl

I'm not sure how you would want to use raccoon fight unless your hunting raccoons. Vole Squeaks will be a fantastic call to use if you have a predator in sight that's not committed and sitting checking things out, they will have to be close to hear this one. Crow fight obviously won't call in predators, but will definitely produce a fun day in the field with a couple boxes of #6's. :D

I know Matt said he hangs his caller in a tree. Do you guys do anything to camo your caller?

I have cheap camo tape on mine. It's the stuff that's not fabric based, I didn't want anything on it that could soak up odors. I don't know if it's necessary to be honest.......but it kinda looks cool.

Not really. I have thrown a couple leaves on it. I don't think hiding it is all that important, at least with foxes.

I used Matt's idea and put my in a small tree two nights ago. Worked great, had the fox come in, he kind of hung up after the call stopped so I started the red fox and rabbit again he came back out, I shot............and missed LOL. I could see the dirt behind him dust up on the road so I know I shot over him. Gotta get better at shooting in the dark. Oh well, at least I had a shot this time.

Last night, walking the dogs, saw a grey fox run across the road and stop in someone's yard. We got kind of close before he realized we were there and ran off. Nice to see. I'll have to give the marsh behind the house more attention.

Have you guys ever thought of putting some sort of fur on the e caller and putting it out in the open for a visual effect??

I mouth called in a coyote to 60 yards last night, he wouldn't come into bow range, kinda knew something was up when he didn't see anything, a visual would of brought him right in!

I am going to save some squirrel hides and tails and, if I can find some, rabbit hides. I have also read about a feather on a string on a stick low to the ground. The wind kind of moves the feather about and gives a visual.

Yeah Bruce, I used to use the feather tied to an old arrow stuck in the ground, easy to use!

If I get an e caller, thought about an old stuffed animal of some sorts, might hold up a little better...
