There was a low spot in my clover field that always held water for a while after a rain. So I decided to help it out. I dug it down about 18-20 inches. It is right in the middle of a 30 yard wide pinch point in my clover field. If it's a dry fall and the creek goes dry, it might be a hot spot.

Great land management right there, I think you could have a HOT spot, pun intended, during warm / dry days...

    Nice tractor..
How much land do you maintain and do you think the tractor suits you working it?
Reason I ask, is I'm considering buying a 128 acre tract of land that has been clear cut and was thinking of a L35 (used) tractor.

In your experience what might you recommend for this size land and implements needed???

Looks good! We have a brush hog almost identical to yours. We're running it on a 40HP JD990, and although we don't have power issues very often, we run into issues when pulling our spring tooth harrow. You can almost never have too much HP, right? :D

Looks great John, that should be a great spot to watch deer this summer and hopefully it will pay off this fall.

I've read somewhere that you could actually put a kid's swimming pool below ground level to collect rain water and act as a watering hole. Neat idea, and when it gets hot and dry they'll like it for sure.
