    Spectacular photos! Also, their drumming is a sound every outdoor enthusiast should hear. It truly is a remarkable sound. How a small bird can create such a deep thump is truly amazing.

    Yep, their just as dumb where I bear hunt In northern Mn. We too don't use shotguns, we use our recurves and longbows. This last year (2010) the grouse population was high. Hunting was good!! Best tasting meat out there!!

    I have only see 3 in my life that didn't scare the crap out of me and were flying. Two were almost tame, one was on a branch about 30 yards away. I would have shot (at) him but it was early November and I had seen a few bucks already that day and didn't want to screw that up.

    Great vids fella's , they really are a beautiful bird . I took a shot at one in Colorado with my Longbow , I got a feather or two , but he flew off to die another day . Nice shooting Dubs
