Yep, went through all of that. Set timing on the rest, tuned the bow, shooting bullet holes w bare shaft and perfect x with fletchings once you get things turned. Like I said, many others I've worked with on tuning and sough advice all have the same things to say. I'm not saying it's impossible to get clearance with the rest, it does take time to tune each arrow though.
You could be right as both are single cam bows, one the Mathews Q2 and the other Mathews Creed. It's easy to see though just by having a nocked arrow and looking from behind what clearance issues can be there. I swore up and down that I wasn't contacting any of it until we put some talcum powder on it. Like I said, it isn't impossible to get clearance but for me and others I worked with on it, it just takes time to tweak things. When I removed the top bar on the Q2 QAD it solved it completely by going cock vane up. On the Creed I didn't want to do that and worked to get it shooting near perfect.
I like the NAP Apache and QAD HDX. I have an HDX on my Revenge and I don't have any issues with vanes clearance myself with Blazers or NAP Twister vanes. The limb driven rests are ok IMO, I just don't care for the big long sting. I've never had issues though with both the QAD HDX or the NAP Apache.
There's ways to shorten the cord length down on limb driven rests , but honestly it's not an issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had the qad hunter and shot it a lot for 4 years without one failure. It's now been on my sons bow for a year without any trouble. I upgrade to the higher end qad but really others than the micro adjust I don't find much difference. You can get a hunter model pretty cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Fre
Did you ever try the ts1 launcher? That will usually cure issues like this if the timing and tune are correct. I've had to use it a couple times. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
Now that you mention it, when they installed the rest I didn't get the packaging or anything else back. Completely forgot they had that....... :p
I'm sure they have plenty of them laying around. I'd go back and get one installed, just reset nock height. And make sure the rest doesn't come fully up until the last 1" of draw and it should work. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
IMO Limb driven rests are the easiest to install and easiest to tune. I've tried a bunch of the cable driven rests and some can be a real pain to get set just right not to say it can't be done and a lot of people love them and I'm sure they have more people using them but I'll personally never go back. I have a vapor trail limb driver pro v on my PSE brute and will be putting a limbdriver pro on my new Elite I'll be picking up today. I'm sure there're are other limb driven rests out there that work as well but I've only used the vapor trail models. Any one I know that has gone to a limb driven rest tell me they will never go back to cable driven. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They are good to start with, simple and reliable, but when you shoot more seriously, you realize that accuracy can be improved with a drop away, faster speed and less wear on the arrow shafts and vanes...
