I was looking to the QAD Ultra Rest Hunter, it retails for around $60 at Gander MTN. I am on kind of a tight budget and was wondering if this was a decent rest? I just bought a PSE Stinger 3G last month, it is a 2012 so i got a great deal on it. Does anyone have and experience with this rest or with others in that price range that may be better? any feedback is appreciated.

The apache is a really good rest for the money! The only down fall to me is it isn't full containment.

First, the Apache IS full containment.

In my opinion there are better rests for the money than the QAD Hunter. The fact that it will bounce up after going down, 20+ parts in it and it is 10-12 years old technology makes is a poor choice in my eyes. I would use the Carbon Apache, Ripcord or WB before any QAD. If money is the major factor, buy a $60 WB. You can't go wrong with it for any hunting bow.

I can appreciate being on a budget. I recommend saving up for a little higher end rest than the Hunter though.

I have had great luck with the QAD rests, the Ultra HD on my bow has been on since 2009, and 3 sets of shot out strings, and showing no signs of letting up.

I like a full capture rest. Some other good ones to consider are the Code Red and Limbdriver Pro V.

Like mentioned above, the WB is failproof, and full capture. My daughter shoots one, and she shoots a bunch of tournaments as well.

I would have no issue using the hunter model. Im as particular as they come and have setup several of these rest with no issues.

Much better option than most fallaways that just drop too early and cause the arrow to start dropping too early.

I agree there are better options on the market but not in that price range.

I've never had any bounce back issues with mine. I also have a Rip Cord on my Hoyt, and it is no better imo so far. That may change with more use, we'll see. But for now I have to say the QAD is a fine rest.

I love the ripcord I had on my z7x. When I got the insanity I went to the apache carbon. I wish I would have went back to ripcord. I'm really not liking the apache. I think the standard model would be better than the carbon though.

I say go with the hunter, find a regular apache (currently on clearance at ****s sporting goods for $35, at least here) or look for a used / good shape rest online.

I gues you could say its full containment. But the arrow is gonna move around and can fall out if it came down to it. Not saying your gonna shoot your bow upside down but if for some reason you were the arrow may come out. And the way I mean by full containment is when sitting with the bow in your lap it's not locked on the pronges. So it is but it isn't. Just depends on how you look at it
