I am planning to get added to my girlfriends phone account as an additional user to save some money and she has better service with Verizon then I have with At&t. Since I have to purchase the phone I am curious which phone everyone recommends. I used to have an Iphone and liked it but have never had an Droid. My current phone is a Windows HTC and it sucks so no plans on staying with anything simular to it.
I prefer Android myself. Infact my renewal is in 2 weeks and I'll get to upgrade from my Droid 1 and go Bionic. The Bionic is an absolute beast of a phone just released a few days ago on Verizon. I really cant say a lot about the iPhone since I have never had one. It just felt to much like a chick phone to me so it might be great for her. Its almost like phones are like bows anymore, you just have to mess around with a few to see which one feels right for your needs.
I prefer the iPhone and it really isn't even close. Having the iPod/itunes interface integrated into the phone is clutch for me. And the new iOS 5 update will eliminate the few annoyances that come with iPhones like how a message will pop up mid screen and interrupt whatever you are doing and how the camera is only accessible on the touch screen (now volume buttons can control camera to make it more like a point and shoot camera. May not be for everyone, but my iPhone is a lot better than my roommates droid.
100% Droid ... the iphone can't touch the droid IMO ... as far as the music, I interface all the songs on my itunes and just copy them over to my Droid ... it really is a piece of cake .... my daughter has the iphone and she would disagree ..cuz .. she's a girl but we go back and forth with .. "My Droid can do that" ..... she loses quite often .. the iphone is tiny compred to alot of Droids as well ...
I'm hearing rumors that sprint will have the iphone next month. Not sure if they are true as Sprint refused to give me a straight answer today. If they get it I may switch from my droid even tho the evo 3d phone looks sick.
All industry indications are that Sprint will be getting it and keeping Unlimited Data for new customers. If you live in an area with 4G I wouldn't switch and the data speeds will likely be 3G with the iPhone 5.
Alright, I am going to head over to Verizon tomorrow morning and take a look and see what my options are. Leaning towards the Droid now but will see what the prices are once we add the additional line to her plan!
I have a commando (android) and my wife has iphone4. I have to admit her's is a much more stable platform. I have to restart mine all the time. Applications are flakey.
I love my droidX. Many more apps are free, music is a sinch, in fact I downloaded a free app called MP3 download. Free Mp3s and adds them to my music without doing anything. Im all about free downloads.
