Who's got one? What model? Pro's, con's? Get something other than a dremel?

Looking for one for the shop for a variety of different things and looking for some reviews.

This the one I got, works good enough for most things......I keep it on my archey bench. I Have one of the super duper what ever you call it accessory kits with like 150 heads that i will never use. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

That said I like an have found a lot of uses for it that i didn't expect.

We have the same model as trial and my wife uses it to trim the nails of our dog and our parrot. I really don't use it much.

I have the dremel 8200 cordless for work.(mechanic) Its handy and quick on the go being wireless but I wish I had either a second battery or a plug in model also for longer jobs.

That's what I am debating. Cordless would be nice for hard to reach areas where a cord would be in the way but battery life was my concern. I will almost always have electricity nearby and a generator that cordless wouldn't be necessary for that reason.

I've had a dremel for years. Immensely handy and reliable, the chord does get in the way but it's nice for reliability.

I've had mine for like 12 years, I'm sure models have changed several times and improved since I bought mine so I really am not a good source of those sorts of updated details, sorry. I just know that for a rotary tool, mine has been great and really useful for mechanical projects as well as all sorts of hobby stuff, gun maintenance/refurbishment, etc...

I've always intended to buy the long flexible head attachment but just never did. I doubt there's any real serious way to go wrong buying any of them as long as a person has need of such a tool.

I have used them for many years. I am on my second one and it is several years old now but like new. It has the variable speed and cord but I don't know the model off the top of my head. They are very handy for very specific uses. I used to do a lot of wood carving and that was the primary purpose for my purchase but have used it in many other ways. I also have a Fordom and it is really beefy for bigger jobs.
