Thought I would throw this out there? Where would be everyones dream hunting trip and why? I have been thinking a lot about this because I work full time, am in grad school at night, and am doing an internship. Needless to say I have no life but I make time to hunt a d fish. Three years from now when I finally have my MBA and hopefully have my dream job working in hunting or fishing industry I want to take a trip somewhere out of my element. Alaska is #1 but crazy expensive (any suggestions Kodiak archer) and Alberta is #2 on my list but is only a little cheaper. Where would others like to go or where have others gone?

My dream hunt would be new Zealand for red stag I have wanted to hunt them since I saw them on tv its not cheap but once I get into the military my girlfriend is going to take money out every month for 20 years so I can go anywhere in the world. I would like to go to africa to just for the fact that I could shoot everything I see almost

New Zealand would be a good choice!

For me at my stage of the game I'd like to hunt Moose or Caribou in a Good spot. Alaska does come to mind :)

I've been to New Zealand, that certainly would be an amazing trip. Just so hard to get over there. Africa would be pretty cool too. I'm actually going there this summer to help out at an orphanage and hike Kilimanjaro. Wish I had time to hunt too!

I went to New Zealand for a big hunting trip last June. It was amazing! I did ducks, turkey, goat, pig (my avatar is a pic of one of the pigs I killed) and a red stag. The stag was only a management stag this time. I am going back next year to kill a big one. The place I went has amazing deals, and you can make up what ever type of combos you want. Check out his web site. Amplehunting.com.

Africa-Cape Buffalo or Austrailia for thier water buffalos. Gun not bow

After having hunted elk already, I'm not sure I can get anymore "dreamier" with my bow. They are about as good as it gets.

On the shorter list of more reasonable "dreams" as in "I will", is a mountain lion hunt with a pistol.

I would have to hit up the Yukon for Moose, Mt Caribou and Dall or Stone Sheep.

The more I think about it, and we have discussed this so many times in the past.. Hunting Alaskas big game species, one of each would be imo far more intriguing to me than anywhere else in the world!

Dall Sheep, Mountain Goats, Moose, Griz, Black Bear, Caribou, Sitka Deer... that would be one heck of a hunt!

My favorite sheep are Stone sheep but I dont think Alaska has any..???? I would love to get to hunt a Stone if I could only pick one sheep as dream hunt. To me they are the most beautiful sheep.

I'm running out of "Dream hunts".
We can't bring polar bears back into the US so that one's been taken off the #1 spot.
I've done brown bear, moose, caribou and goats in AK.
I did the bison in WY.
I've done elk in ID and mulies in CO.
Will and I are going to take water buffalo in Australia off the #2 spot this Sept.
I guess that leaves cape buffalo and alligator still on the list.

    Have to be Africa.

I would love to recreate the lion hunt that pope and young did. But successfully with my longbow I made.

I would have to say New Zealand for Red Stag as well, but there is an outfitter in ohio about 2 hours from my house that does red stag hunts on his ranch in Ohio. Does several other animals. Including several species of pigs, goats, and several other animals. Send me a message if you want his info.

If it moves, I'm dreaming about hunting it!

You can hunt New Zealand for airfare, a cheap rental car, and gas money. When I have time I'll share everything I know in a, "Killer loose in NZ" thread. Oz is another great destination with exactly the same conditions. Rob, I look forward to our meeting there!

Africa is not all that expensive, especially when you learn the ropes. For example, I am currently planning a return trip to the Limpopo Province for 2012. This is going to be a seven day all inclusive bowhunt which includes: a trophy kudu or wildebeest, jackal, caracal, baboon, and warthog, non-trophy steenbuck, duiker, impala. The hunt costs $3000 and the hunter must agree to shoot 2 additional animals from the trophy list. The kudu in Limpopo are second to none and darn near worth the cost of the hunt by itself. I know the outfitter well and trust him. I know he'll work with me to custom build any hunt I want. If you care to join me, send a PM. I'll be hunting my cape buff and hippo right after this hunt.

Pursuit of the big five and other dangerous game has my attention at the moment...

Stalk hunting a moose in alaska with bow, or Ron skoronski's farm in iowa for 200+ inch whitetail. I think his property is still for sale. I don't think we could all afford it if we all went in on it.
