If you could go to one place in the country to hunt big whitetails where would you go and why? would you want to be guided? public ground? anything..I've been thinking about going on a trip next fall and I want some ideas on where everyone wants to go and what kind of place to go, I have a few ideas but nothing set in stone.
Not sure I'd go anywhere other than where I already am.. LOL possibly a different property that is nearby. Other than that possibly Iowa.
My dream hunt is actually a bugling elk hunt. But as far as whitetail dream hunt goes I would have say that a Kansas bowhunt with my uncle. He makes a trip with some buddies almost every year. I will hopefully be accompanying them sometime in the near future. Last season he got this buck there aswell as this pic of the buck running bye his trail cam post shot with blood spurting from the wound. If you look behind the front shoulder you'll see it. He said the buck went another 100 or so yards and curled up.
Any were besides here in Michigan, our buck to doe ratio is horrible. I have only seen a handful of GOOD BUCKS and I hunt 3 different tracks maybe1 day I can head out to the mid-west and take one of them big bucks my biggest buck to date is just a small 7 pointer and thats considered a monster here in Michigan
Since I live in a place most pay big bucks (ha) to come to and hunt whitetails (adams and pike county) I'd haveta say Iowa or Kansas.
I would like to hook up with T-Bone "Travis Turner" and hunt the Milk River! All because of the rep the pros have set on that place. I just want to see how and if it really is that great! Other than that I would stay in Illinois.
