A fellow stated he was casting a 670 grain arrow at 275 fps.
My feeble mind doesn’t work this way.
Assuming a “normal” efficiency compound bow, how many hundred pounds draw weight would be required to do what he says he is doing?

I thought I was doing pretty good flinging my 490’s at 235 fps!

Well I can't quite get there with my calculator but take this for a start.

    Assumptions:

    340 IBO speed Bow
    80 lbs DW
    670 gr arrow
20 grains added to the string
    31" DL

    = 268 FPS

    Not too far off.

Essentially the way I see it, you would need a big dude with a long DL, and helluva fast bow, a peep only on the string, pulling 80 lbs to get even close.

I think it’s probably physically plausible but not feasible in 95% of real world situations.
