I apologize if this is already discussed in another thread, but I could not find it in the search.

I have a 2011 Quest Primal with 70# limbs. It is capable of 74# draw weight. Is this normal and is it safe to shoot above the limb rating?

My previous bows would never make the full limb rating, so I've never ran into this before. Thanks.

It's not unusual for bows to go over a little and it is fine for the limbs. Limbs are changed for different combination to reach different poundage anyway. Just make sure your not getting crazy with them.

Just to make sure it is not an issue of cables and/or string creep, check your axle - axle as well as brace height. If either of those is off, then you probably need new rigging.

Thanks guys. G5/Quest emailed me that it was normal for their bows and ok to shoot it at 74.
