I've had 4 cancer surgeries and have lost a lot of muscle tone.I have a martin maxx33 compound 60-70.I need to drop poundage down as much as possible. I need to find out how many turns back I can do safely. Need to drop draw weight as much as I can. Thanks for any help. Benny Turner
Obviously going to the shop is the first choice but as that was not the answer you are looking for the next best approach is to purchase a scale https://a.co/d/1A7JHtX Then use that to get to your bows advertised low end. Which looks like is 50. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
I am seeing them available as 45-55, 55-65, or 65-75 pound options. Need to determine which your is, a lot of companies put that info on a sticker on the lower limb. Then, as Fix said, get a bow scale. Check where it is at currently, then turn both limb bolts out one full turn, then check with the scale to see what it reduced to. Keep doing that until you reach the minimum poundage of the bow's range. Do not go down to anymore than what the company says is minimum for the bow. If it is a 55-65 lb range bow, then do not turn the limb bolts out anymore once reaching 55 lbs on your scale. A bow shop could play with axle to axle length a bit (lengthen it to a 1/4" over its 33" rating) to get it down a bit more for you if it was needed.
