I'm a new shooter here. Bought my first bow this season , a Hoyt Turbohawk it's very nice but I have a question about my draw length. I was measured at 28 1/2 DL at one pro shop close to me. I ended up buying my bow at another pro shop about 35 mi away and they guy there set my bow up at 27 or 27 1/2. He said this was to help me keep my arm a little bent to avoid string slap on the forearm.

The thing is I think that I have a bit too much bend in my left arm( bow support arm) when I shoot. I feel like my bow is a bit too unpredictable at times when I shoot. There will be times I'm shooting great and other times not good at all even when I think I'm using perfect technique. What do you guys think. Are all you using your true measured draw length for your bow?

If your arm is not fully locked you will never be consistent. Its also better for your hand holding the bow, having the elbow locked helps the bow naturally hit your index/thumb pocket (the Y). When you bend your arm the bow tends to want to rest more on the thumb.
    Great article on bow grip...

I have always had trouble anchoring my draw hand in the same postition, it felt comfortable to me at all postitions but my accuracy suffered as a result. I added a little kisser button, brass knock point, to help me draw and anchor perfect everytime. One less thing to worry about when that big buck decides to walk by.
