Hi im new to the forums Im kinda stumped on somthing and not sure who to ask. I havent shot a bow since 2006 and ive always shot a 29inch draw my last bow was a bowtech allegiance with a 29 inch draw and I could bust nocks all day long with it, well I went and ordered a Matthews Helim last week and the guy at the shop who I know nothing about measured me and said im a 29.5 he said he wanted to be certain before ordering the bow since the draw lengths on this bow arent adjustable, my question is once the the release and string loop is put into the equation isnt this gonna be more like a 30 inch to 30.5 draw I asked him and he said not as much as you would think im just a little skeptical can anyone shine some light on this for me. The bow hasnt come in yet and it will prolly be a while before I get the sights and rest I want to set the bow up I just dont wanna carry it out of the shop and its to long for me.

I am not sure I would order a bow that I was unsure of... Did he not have one you could shoot? I would rather be 1/2 short than too long personally. Too long is a pain from a tree stand.

I don't think it makes much of a difference with the release and such as far as the draw length, unless the release is entirely to long.. but I agree with MuzzyMan id def wanna shoot one before ordering.

And also agree with it being much better to be a half inch shorter than a half inch long. :)
