Sitting in your tree-stand or ground blind wishing you could avoid having to grab a cold bow when the time comes. Well thanks to Scott at DragonFire you don’t have to wish any longer. The DragonFire ThermoGrip is a battery powered grip that provides up to three hours of heat and doubles as a stabilizer for any bow.
The ThermoGrip has to heat settings, low and high and the stabilizer has a weather resistant battery housing which allows for quick battery replacement of 4 AA batteries. Inside the stabilizer is a vibration dampening compound which absorbs the vibration from your bow very nicely while providing battery power to keep your hand warm.
Without batteries the unit weighs a mere 3.2 ounces and around 7.3 ounces with batteries. Diameter of the stabilizer/battery housing is 1.5” and length is a total of 6.5”.
When using this unit Scott really recommends you use 2650 mAh nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries to get the most out of the warmer. I experimented with regular batteries and found they didn’t perform well but when I did switch to the NiMH batteries performance improved greatly.
The grip has an adhesive but removable backing to put around your grip and a small wire that goes to the stabilizer. It consists of an etched foil heating element with 3.62” of heating surface. By pressing the green button once or twice allowing the high or low setting the grip immediate begins to warm up. Depending on outside temperatures this could vary. According to the ThermoGrip website www.DragonFireThermoGrip.com this is the first and only product on the market with such capabilities.
