I know next to nothing about the black rifle market but am curious... what makes such vast differences in the cost among these? Accessories? Accuracy? Brand recognition? By buying a cheap model are you accepting that it won't be the most accurate in the world, or will it shoot just as straight as the other factory offerings?
No still shoot just as straight but wont hold up to professional standards meaning an LWRC, bravo company and daniel defense will hold up to 10s of thousands of rds while holding true to the barrel zero. You run this thing for a couple thousand and prob break a few things and need to replace a barrel or other parts. This type of gun would be good for someone who just plinks now and again. I run thousands of rds a year in my bravo company but have a cold hammer forged barrel and higher end bolts and internals to hold up to this.
slugger nailed the basic differences...barrel construction type, twist rate are the biggest differences...obviously these are useful and practical for those that know what they are buying.
So someone who would MAYBE shoot 500 rounds in a decade would do better just sticking with a lower end rifle like this? It is tempting, as dirt cheap as that is.
O yes that would be perfect. It will still shoot very accurate out to 500 meters. Just wont last with a ton of ammo.
Sorry but I would pass ...I don't see the value, I would rather spend a few hundred more and get better quality. I am not saying you need buy a FN but spend I a lithely more will get you a lot more value.
DPMS makes nice guns. My Panther is a much finer quality fit than my Colt Gov Model. At that price you can always shoot it till something breaks and then have the cash left over for aftermarket parts; or build as you go. ARs are kind of like jeeps- you can spend a lot for a modded out tack driving horse, or you can go cheap and build it up as you want.
I started out with a DPMS several years ago. It always went bang when I pulled the trigger. That being said after moving to a Daniel Defense theres no way id buy another. You can build a quailty rifle from PSA for not much more than what this rifle is selling for. Thats with a FN hammer forged barrel and all. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
If you live in a state where gun rights are constantly threatened buying this inexpensive rifle just for the lower and being able to plink until you build your own would be a good idea. Before our law took effect Oct. 1 I saw stripped lowers selling for this much.
Best price I found in one of the better AR out there. http://www.slickguns.com/product/sw-mp15-spt-556nato-16-30rd-fld-georgia-gun-store-inc-550-sh
