I have one of these vests as well. I where it fir casual wear and for hunting in cold temps. I have worn hunting in Alberta when the temps are in the negatives. Works great for insulation.

That's more like it. I was about to say I need to gain some weight to get in on these deals.

Check the page from time to time, it seems like they're going through stock and putting up what's left. It's said Sold Out a few times when I looked at it and then all the sudden a new size appears.

Same here. I looked at it after the cancellation and they showed L in stock so I ordered one to see if I'd get the same cancellation result. Fingers crossed.

Anything prima-loft is good. I have the Nomad Dunn Vest and a Hells Canyon primaloft pants and they do really well. I wear a merino wool base or poly pro, the Dunn Vest and a Drake vest and Scent Lok Maverick outer layer and stay pretty comfortable down to the mid teens.

The drake vest provide wind protection

I keep checking my email expecting a cancellation but nothing yet. Order still says In Process.

I'd say that's a pretty good sign. I think they're just liquidating their current stock. I read reviews and a few people said there's problems with the zippers, so maybe they're getting rid of all the old zipper designs to make room for the new version. But based on that, I'd be nice to the zipper on them, if they actually do come.

I put an order in for the Large today and it hasn't been cancelled yet, and they're Out of Stock again. We'll see...

The reason most down puffies aren't as effective as baselayers is the outerwear squishes all the insulating heat trapping air pockets. I say AS effective because there will probably still be some pockets but it will be diminished vs. wearing as an outer layer.

It may go against your sponsors but check out the Nomad Dunn primaloft series. Basically fleece/felt covered primaloft down puffies. I just got both the bibs and the blaze/realtree reversible vest. Only tried out the vest so far but it was very quiet and warm at 22* and blocked the 15mph winds just fine. Underneath I was wearing Cabelas ECWS fleece underwear, heavyweight snow camo polar fleece hoodie, and the Nomad (reversed for blaze- it was MZ season.) I was wearing different bibs b/c I knew I would be slogging thru briars and didn't want to shred my new duds. I was plenty warm.

MidwayUSA was running a clearance last week- don't know what's still avail. FWIW, sizing is pretty accurate. I'm 6-1 / 210 so I'm always b/t a L and XL. The L bibs fit a tiny bit tight but I'm fatter this season than usual and they were perfect length. The L vest fit fine but their L wind proof pullover fleece was a touch short in the arms/tight in the shoulders. Got an XL and sleeves are fine; a bit baggy in the middle but it's made for layering so that's OK.
