OK I admit I suck when it comes to computer's, give me a car and ill fix it all day long, fabricate, weld and suchforth I have my new Cannon XA10, installed the video transfer software no problem. I download my vids to files. I try to open files and it tells me the files are not supported! What the heck??? I have tried and tried and tried again! I need to get some of these sent soon to some one! If you can give me a hand I would appreciate it. Please speak english please, no browser, jpeg, format, image code thingy talk or I wont know what the heck your talking about. HEEEEELP
I know my Sony has some sort of proprietary image codec also. I had to go to the manufactures site and download the software. You might have the disk, it should have been in the box when you bought it. Take a look at page 139 and 140 of you manual. Here is a snippet. --------------------------------------- Uploading Movies to Video Sharing Web Sites With the supplied software Transfer Utility, you can upload your scenes to your favorite video sharing Web site. To do so, you must first convert them into standard-definition scenes in the camcorder. If you are using an Eye-Fi card, you can upload the standard-definition scenes wirelessly, directly from the camcorder. Refer to Eye-Fi's homepage for the latest information on compatible Web sites. Installation Install the software before you connect the camcorder to the computer for the first time. Refer to the Installation Guide (supplied leaflet) and follow the instructions in the Software Guide (PDF file) to install the supplied PIXELA's software. Sent from my iPhone
Yeah, I already read through that in the manual! I had 2 disc come with the camera, one was the video transfer software and the other really was not anything involving downloading or video sharing. Im not using a eye-fi card, just high speed SD cards! Im going to try and look up the part about converting to standard definiton. Im not sure if it is! Thanks!
I have the canon vixia hf m41 and it came with the same software don't use the transfer utility try the other disk. And if it keeps doing it when you plug in the sd card try plugging in the camera.
I say you scrap this entire filming idea you have. With those fat fingers of yours you have to figure your gonna mess up most of the time and not be able to push the record button anyways! Send me the camera and I will put it to better use!
Have you tried just cutting or copying the video files off your card onto your desktop or an external drive? Try downloading VLC media player to actually play the files though. It's a free download and plays just about all video files. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Dan this obviously isn't going to work so just mail that whole setup you got there down here to me in GA. I'll take care of it all for you.
Ok Mr. weather you like it or not, your getting a hug at the G2G! I downloaded the videolan and it opened my files no problem. My computer must be a little slow cause It has the sound but the vid locks up and dosent play through steady. I have high speed but not ultra high. Now I just have to get used to the program and figure out how to send the files! Thank you much, still not sure why my computer wouldnt reconize the files without this!
Still think I had the best suggestion! You bringing the camera to the GTG? Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
