16 more days and my hunting season arrives.

Sunflowers are ready. The dog is on edge. Grill is clean and bacon is in the freezer.

I can taste the deliciousness right now, it's so close. A guy at church beer batters his dove breasts and deep fries them. I'm a bacon wrapper myself, anyone try frying theirs? I'm curious to test it out.

I will have to try it. I am like you bacon and on the grill.

Looks like a lot of birds again this year too.

I like your countdown because it saves me from remembering exact countdown for my goose opener!

If you guys have never tried motionless decoys on fishing poles, it is crazy how well they work. Hear me out on this, it may sound crazy. When we only have a few guys to hunt a big field and powerlines are running through it, we tie dove decoys to fishing poles and cast them across the lines. Just reel the dove all the way up to the line and let the pole sit on the ground to keep the line tight. I was pretty skeptical about it until I tried it. Doves will fly right to them. It's amazing how good they look up there. Try it and I think you will like it.

First day dove hunting, not that great so far. It stormed a little bit this morning, and not much activity yet

Anybody have much luck? I've only went out couple times, first time had pretty good luck. Went this morning but didn't see much. Will say though I think next year might need to try getting some geece, after chopped corn and some clover they've been all over farm.
