Alright well here's my boohoo story of the year. This morning after i finished butchering a couple doe's I decided to shoot a couple shots. I havent practiced since the opener on Oct. 3, which is a dumb move on my part. First shot at 20 was low but still a kill shot, so i stepped back to 35. Shot went low through a bag target and through our fence. Tried another arrow and aimed a little higher, this arrow barely caught the bottom of the 3D target. I Sat down and looked over my bow and found that my serving had slid up my string and was bunched up below my kisser button. I'm not sure how or why the serving would shift but it did. Now rewind to Tuesday night when i hit the biggest buck i've ever saw in the woods. I had him at 10yds and hit him low. To paraphrase; i backed out, looked the next morning and found blood for about 125yds, arrow after 30yds, never bedded. After looking for 8 hours and grid searching with a GPS, i came to the conclusion that it was a high leg/briskett hit. Maybe it wouldnt have changed the outcome but atleast i wouldnt have the thought in my mind. I am absolutely at fault for this but this is also the last time i'll ever have work done at Bow hunters superstore, nonstop issues with my new string since having it put on in August.

    Great reminder.

I was fortunate enough to shoot a round of indoor 3D this morning when I left twilds. It felt really good to shoot a round. Reestablished my muscle memory, mind strengthening etc.. Now I'm ready for that big boy to step out.

Anyone know any nerve calming practices. :D

Great reminder, I shoot at least 4 arrows after every sit from my stand just before I get down. I'll shoot on my way to my stand in the afternoon! I'm pretty much still shooting everyday!

Funny you should mention this, even though I have killed two deer this season, I hadn't practiced since the begining of October. I went out and shot 30 arrows or so and it felt great.

Great Reminder...Friday afternoon I decided to shoot some as I hadn't since Sept 30th...first shot not bad but each shot was a little lower...then especially low at 30 and 40...ends up my nock was sliding up with each shot...removed nocks, replaced with new and crimped those suckers down...shot 3 arrows after that at 20-30-40 yards, all in the dot. I took that confidence with me Saturday morning and shot the first deer of the year.

I'll get some shots in this week, I really won't be able to hunt again till Saturday.

I did get tangled in some nasty thicket on the way out last Saturday in the dark, and I will definetly shoot my bow before going out in a hunting situation again!
