That's exactly why things will never get fixed unless some democrat gets elected and then does a 190 and governs as a conservative. Now that...would be hilarious.
I've always wondered why that isn't tried either. Get someone to infiltrate the other party and pretend to be a communist, someone that the morons in this country want, and then if he/she were to get elected, totally go libertarian/conservative. If Obama can get elected with no track record, pulling off a stunt like that shouldn't be too hard, it's obvious people will vote for anybody these days.
At those point, I don't have the most concern about who is in the White House. As long as the opposing party has the power in Congress. I don't like either party having a super majority. Local elections are where the most good can be done for the country. If each state improves individually, the country will improve also.
While local elections are very important, the more the federal government puts its foot on the neck of the states, the less freedom the states have as individual entities and the more regulations we the people are subject to. Especially when it comes to things/programs like the IRS/taxes, Obamacare, foreign aid, 2nd amendment, privacy infringement, etc.,. Until we put the parties in their place they will continue shifting more liberal until the country implodes. Fixing this country starts with dusting off the Constitution and actually using it again.
The magnitude of change (I almost quiver even using that word after it has been so tainted the past 7 years) required to fix government and the politicians who run it, attitude isn't even close to what will be required to accomplish it. Not unless we have something similar to another Revolution, probably in the form of state secession, Civil War, or military coup, will anything be enough to get us there. What's scary is that I don't want to see how that would even play out in a modern day war. It all depends on what the military does, it's out of control for the citizenry at this point.
I don't know why everyone is hating on trump, because he is mean? He tells the truth. How is that not electable? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agreed. The lawmakes should be out of a job at this point no further laws should even be needed. If they want to stay employed in public office, they should be focusing on deregulation and wiping out brain dead junk laws that are not needed and are excessive/irrelevant. For a "free country" we have a hell of a lot of laws, many of which were never constitutional to start with.
He is just pandering to me. And he is pandering to the lowest common denominator. And I get that is what politicians do, but it just feels like that is all he is doing IMO.
I don't think so, I don't think he does anything without wanting to win and see it through Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Third parties can get elected into State positions and into the Senate and House, but today they have no chance in presidential politics. 3rd party cannot be split between multiple 3rd parties either. Than that 3rd party needs to get to the point where it holds around 25% of the seats in Congress and a small handful of Governors as well. Until then, voting 3rd party for president is a waste of a vote. While I may not end up liking either GOP or DEM candidate, there is always one that I dislike more.
Can someone explain some of Trumps policies that he wants to enact? Anything more than little quips and soundbites?
Again -- when has it happened in this century? My attitude thought it was possible when I threw my vote away on Perot.. And look what I got.. the Clinton's
Its not in that it can cause one of the parties, either Democrat or Republican, to shift in a certain way if one 3rd party is consistently taking away votes from them. If the Libertarian party started seriously hindering the Republicans, they would eventually begin to shift more Libertarian. I know 3rd parties have no chance right now or even within the next couple of elections. But a 3rd party being involved in at least the debate process with cause some shifts. We always complain about the 2 party system but no one wants to actually do anything about, just want to keep voting for the "lesser of two evils".
Yep, a very accurate, yet unfortunate, truth. The problem is the uneducated voters, the ones who vote the way they told to vote or the ones who vote a certain way because their family has always voted that way. If every single person voted according to their moral compass or what they actually believe in, I could see a 3rd, 4th, and maybe even 5th party. Until then, we will forever be stuck with a 2 party system.
Wants to eliminate illegal immigration, start winning trade deals, bring jobs back to America. Sounds a lot better than making deals with Iran and and spending time legalizing marijuana and gay marriage. The Republican Party is doomed if they don't support trump. Jeb Bush won't beat Clinton and neither will any of the rest if them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How though? I know his talking points. Trump would not beat Clinton. It wouldn't be close. Bush...no. Bush couldn't. Others may though.
this exactly. third party needs to be included for no other reason than the debates. to offer real-world solutions instead of the "my team vs your team" attitude that is modern day politics. we're all on the same damn team fercrissakes!!!
