Brutal honesty I can respect but there's a difference between brutal honesty and just being a d*ck. I could not care less about political correctness beyond a general loathing of it.

    Generally, no.
I would make an exception for Ted Cruz though.

He's definitely outspoken, I'm not convinced about honest. He's not wrong on some issues and he doesn't mind giving his opinion so I guess he's honest about giving his opinion. That's not necessarily a reliable accounting of one's "honesty" though. He'd make a great dictator because he knows he's always right and doesn't mind honestly saying so repeatedly.

America is not interested in a business savvy candidate, they only want the candidate to promise the moon. Doesn't really matter if he delivers because we have the attentions span of a chihuahua. Mitt Romney was that business savvy candidate in 2012 and we all see how that went. Romney was not a career politician, he made his mark in business before he became the Governor of MA.

Trump is a high risk/ high reward business man. Several of his business ventures have gone bankrupt because of it. Probably not the best plan for America

I couldn't extend that invitation just because I'd have to stipulate Ron's non-invitation.

My background is as a business underwriter. I routinely work on credit deals for corporations, non-profit corporations and government entities.

Government absolutely should NOT be run like a for-profit company. Why? Not everything that is profitable is of social value and not everything of social value is profitable. The government's job is the latter. If pornography is more profitable than having an Air Force should the government shut down the Air Force to start a pornography business since it may make more business sense?

I'm certainly not against having a president who has successful business experience but Trump is a loud mouthed clown who inherited his fortune. I don't see how he could have a clue of the daily challenges faced by regular working class people. I'm surprised how many here seem supportive of him.

Honest may have been the wrong word Covey.. and I do agree with your assessment that being self centered as he is makes him a great candidate for a dictatorship... Can you imagine what his executive orders might be like! LOL

Sota-- I'm sure they manage to keep their wealth before during and after being president rules or no rules...

I do not think Trump wants to be president I think he just wants to debate and be a foil, oh and a little self promotion as well.

I'm not a fan of the Donald but I'd love to have a businessman in the White house for a term or two. Not sure the senate and congress will listen to him but that another thread.

The tickets are set. It will be a Bush v. Clinton race. The establishment and powers that be, "corporate powers such as the Koch brothers and Halliburton" will never get behind a candidate like Trump. He's a wealthy man, but he can't bankroll a presidential campaign by himself. IMO this is a publicity stunt. He'll get another season of the apprentice out of this and a boost in ratings.

I'd say he has 9 Billion reasons why he could bankroll a run if he is serious all by himself.

BTW- The apprentice is not slated to continue this season.

As far as the tickets being set-- we will see...
