The silver lining is that they didn't get trampled/gored by the mother or the herd. Park "Officials" would have had to put them all down.
What I don't get is why did the calf have to be put down. What is the reason that it couldn't be taken in and bottled fed. Yes I know if it was released back into the park it would be friendly with people but why couldn't it be taken to another refuge. There are ways of bottle feeding with limited human interaction. Otherwise I hope someone got some tasty bison veal.
I wish that people would recognize that animals are not humans, and that mother nature (cruel as she may seem) is perfectly suited to taking care of the wild. Fur is a great insulator, that's why we wear it. An animal with a fur coat is perfectly fine even in freezing temps.
Woulda had to have been quarantined for however long and they don't have a place to do that. According to what Yellowstone sent out as response. Which is probably true, it's that way with livestock. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
What a mules rearend! How dang stupid could these people be for crying out loud? Prolly support Bernie Sanders too
This statement is something an anti hunter would say. In the end it's just an animal, it's unfortunate but calves die everyday. Hopefully misinformed people learned from this but statements like this are as stupid as the act you're commenting on.
I'm not going to bash the guy, but people really need to realize that we don't live in a Disney movie. On a side note, we went to Yellowstone for vacation a couple years ago and some Jackass hit a bison calf with their car. It had to be put down too. Seriously, I can't remember ever traveling much more than about 25 mph on the roads there. How in the world do you hit one with your car.
