Interesting that the Supreme Court is actually going to let the states have say in something. What a joke.

No surprise really. The government has forbidden God in anything they can and now they are going directly against what is written in His book.

While I believe in each his own I believe that the word "Marriage" for "legal definitions" needs to be changed. Why shouldn't a gay couple have the same advantages our system gives heterosexual couples? They should make it "domestic union" when speaking legally and marriage when speaking religiously

    As it should be

The church and government should be separate, especially in a country that proclaims freedom of religion.

Then why, when things go to hell in a handbasket, the first thing the politicians do is pray? You can't have your cake and eat it too.

And? It really does not matter the personal beliefs of a politician. They can be religious all they want, but when it comes to creating or writing laws for this country, religion should not have any affect whatsoever within those laws.

And that is your right, and you should have that right your entire life.

But don't force your beliefs or deny rights to others based on your beliefs.

I recently heard a comedian sum it up pretty well. Those of you against gay sex should be all for gay marriage. What better way to stop sex than marriage?

I for a long period of time in my life was pretty homophobic. The more I have thought of this subject over the years the more I have come to the conclusion that denying someone the right to be married in America based on sexual preference is un-American. Although the practice of homosexuality and gay marriage still seems a little weird to me based on my upbringing, I believe today's Supreme Court decision was the right one. My father would probably slap me upside the head if he heard me say that, but I stand firm.

Heck, if the supreme court allows gay marriage then why in the heck is Virginia still able to deny hunting on Sundays based on centuries old religious beliefs?

the SCOTUS is not allowing gay marriage, it basically just said that they will treat gay married couple equally for those that were married in states in which gay marriage is legal.

the ruling also finally said that gay marriage is and will be a state thing, but hopefully this gets the ball rolling in the right direction

it's amazing that in 5 years this will be an absolute non issue, and those still against gay marriage will just be laughed at for their bigotry

Homophobic is a made up word that does not exist. Few are afraid of homosexuals, many are disturbed by it.

I'm glad the supreme court got this one right, but I'm a little disappointed in the forum. I thought you guys would be on page 5-6 by now.
