Going back to the homeplace this weekend to do some scouting on the National Forest. I used to walk to these areas from my parent's house when I lived back home. I'll drive this weekend only because I will already have a lot of walking ahead of me. :D Marker D is the furtherst most place I will be able to park in order to get to marker E. Marker A is an area that I can easily walk to from my parents home. I have a stand site there on the side of a ridge that borders a thicket. I called the buck in the last pic within 20 yards last season but gave him a pass. Marker C is another spot I'd like to check. You guys have any other suggestions?
Man that looks like some awesome terrain to hunt. Here are just some of MY thoughts. Blue=potential bedding. Yellow=possible movement based on wind.
I like the small saddle to the west of E. Its right up against that hilltop funnel. Kinda like shadow said they could bed on that point to the west and work east and cross the ridge at the saddle. I would definitely check that out. Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
