Dog Sledding tomorrow, The Today Show will be taping

Hard to believe that We've lived up here for 5 years already, and have never been dog sledding. Well, we got a 1/2 day trip for Christmas from my dad & step-mom so tomorrow is the day.

Turns out, the Today Show is going to be doing a piece on Ely, including our guide. So, they will be there taping all day. Not sure when it will air, but I'll be taking photos of the adventure and will post them up when we get back

Can't wait to hit the trails with a team of dogs!

As far as the Today Show goes, here's the story.

A couple from Ely wrote a letter to Obama, and theirs was chosen to get a personal response. He does this once a week. Well their response was two full pages, much larger than the norm. The press know when he sends these out and since it was different, they decided to do a piece on Ely.

The story focuses on the letter (and the couple), a family that live up the Echo Trail (off-grid, 17 year-old son was home schooled and is now guiding sled-dogs), and dog sledding. My wife and I were the people being guided. I'm guessing if we show up in the video at all it'll be 2 or 3 seconds, but I'm guessing we will.

It's set to air Monday morning on the Today Show, in conjunction with their coverage of the inauguration.

So cool, Fitz. Looks like a lot of fun. My wife watches the Today show when she's getting ready for work. I'll have her keep an eye out.
