I've decided to hunt with Carbon Express arrows this season and was using thier on-line arrow selector guide. First they suggested I determine what my actual bow draw weight would be. My draw lenght is 30" and my bow, a Destroyer 340, will be set at 70 pounds. Their questionaire uses a point value system based on several factors to determine the correct arrow for your application. After answering their questionaire, I determined that according to their site, I will be looking for an arrow with a spine strength capable of being shot in an 82# pull bow. They are suggesting I shoot arrows in the 450 category and recommend either the Mayhem, Mutiny, Piledriver, or the Maxima. I'm most likely going to shoot the Maxima with a 100 grain spitfire broadhead for hunting whitetail deer. Does this spine stiffness sound right for my set up? I have been told I need to look at shooting the 350s. Comments and concerns welcomed.

    Thanks,

I would say the 450 are correct

I have a Z7 Xtreme set at 58 lb with a 29 inch draw and shoot Maxima 350's

I too agree, 450 will work fine. The maxima series are great arrows too, this is my second year using the 350's and I love them!

Re-Read the chart. Yes It looks that way. I think 350 or 450 would work for you.

carbon express are awesome arrows, very tough and accurate! I've been using them for 7 years now and wouldn't shoot anything different.

Most charts tend to reccomend a stiffer arrow for the Destroyer bows because of their aggressive cams. It might pay to experiment with both if you can find someone who will let you borrow some.

I wouldn't go below 400 on that set up. The tech at my pro shop says nothing below 400 should be used on a 70lb draw and actually said he wouldn't use anything under a 450 due to some 70lb bows could easily go up to 72-73lbs when adjusted to the max.
