Does this sound like a doe coming into "heat"?

Sitting in my stand this evening I witnessed something I never have before. I had a doe come up to a rub and she started rubbing her head on the tree as if she were a buck. At first, I thought it was a button buck but then realized it was way too big for a BB. After doing the above, she went to a low hanging branch and rubbed her scent on that too. She then proceeded to walk off with her tail at full salute, like she was peeing. Is she coming into heat according to this behavior? Anyone ever witness this?

I'd say she's getting there. If she was In heat she would more then likely have a buck on her tail If you have enough bucks around the area you hunt.

Finchy, watch their tarsal glands. The blacker they are, the closer they are. Once she is bred she'll lick them clean again.

Steve, I believe there are enough bucks around. I do know one thing, there are way too many does on that property though.

Rob, I didn't even think about the tarsal glands. I didn't notice tonight either. Why will she lick them clean?
