whenever i shoot practice points for a while then switch to broadheads i get psyched out for a little bit.... arrows going all over the place, no consistancy and low confidence. yesterday i finally shook the jitters and started grouping em' again. thank goodness!

Yeah, it happens to me too. I think it is mostly mental for me. I only have a small broad head target to shoot at (rinehart ball), and the fact that I was shooting an expensive broadhead vs. a cheap fieldpoint. I just freaked and missed the first two shots from 20yd. So I moved into 10, then 15, and gained confidence and all was good after that. It definitely psyched me out though!

I was shooting my broadheads last weekend and there were a couple times at the begining that I jerked shots off the mark. :o

Then I relaxed, concentrated on having a smooth release and they started hitting very close with my field tips. ;)

I guess I never really thought about it before... I popped on the bh's and went at it starting at 20 then 30 then 40 yds... my groups weren't quite as good but they were consistent.... I guess I never really paid attention and continued doing the same thing... i bet its on my mind next time I hit the range though eh???

Had the same problem, glad I'm not the only one. I just decided to go shoot with the attitude "It's just a flattened out field point", worked for me.

For some reason when I put on the broadheads and shoot from elevation, I shoot better. I feel like I am in the game so to speak.

I can shoot consistently with my broadheads or Fp's in fact this year have shot more BH's than fieldpoints

Instead of switching directly from FPs to BHs, try incorporating a couple in to your group. Say for instance, you're shooting a group of 6 arrows...shoot 2 of them with BHs and the rest with FPs. Don't look at the arrow tip. Just grab, nock, and shoot. That way you don't pay as much attention to the arrow tip. Just a thought. Works for me.
