Does the NFL have the right to enforce marijuana usage policies for players in CO?

I don't know about the owners but the NFL is a non-profit corporation. The corporation does not pay income taxes

Roger Goodell made around $29 million in fiscal year 2012 I believe...or maybe it was 2011?

Exactly, the league shows huge net losses of income on their tax returns...at least in recent years...their net worth is also negative on their balance sheet.

What you're not understanding is that the contract is between employer and employee. Regardless of if drug use is legal or not, has no bearing. Just as was stated previously, there are contracts where people cannot drink, smoke, gamble, have illegitimate pregnancies, immoral acts, etc. and they have been upheld by the courts, even with those actions being legal.

Yes, the NFL has the right to enforce whatever they want.

Now whether or not they should enforce it? I don't think it should be any different than their policies on alcohol.

What you are not understanding is that I understand that completely. I said the agreement/contract between the NFL and players using marijuana in CO needs to change. Goodness gracious.

I currently work under a contract that forbids me to smoke or use smokeless tobacco, so I fully understand what is going on Tiny.

Too many young kids that look up to these players for the NFL to allow them to start using drugs just because the state says its legal.

Kids should pick better role models. Most of these players are already doing more harmfull drugs than mary jane. The league doesn't even have tests for alot of the stuff they use.

What about the NFL players who run people over dead when they are drunk, drive drunk, and maliciously wound or rape women when drunk? Should alcohol be banned?
